Hi
First time poster. I am a hobbiest, nothing serious. I only take family pictures and the occassional scenery shots. I used to own a slr but moved to digital only 2 years ago. At that time, digital slr's were rather expensive for my use so I opted for the Canon Powershot 4MP A80 or 85...can't remember. Anyway, since the 350D has come out, I am tempted to go the twin lens kit package in australia. One is the standard kit lens 18-55mm and the other, EF 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6 II USM. I've read mostly cons on the 55-200 lens in this forum and other reviews but I do not think I am serious enough to go beyond family pictures, get togethers and the odd scennery shots. There are dicussions of better lens then the one above and I agree but with a price tag.
My question is not which lens is better which is covered many times in this forum but for what I use, despite the 55-200 shortcomings, will this be good enough for my purposes? Moving from a point and shoot digital camera, I should notice a marked difference in picture quality.
many thanks
Pat
