What do you feel your f-stop sweet spot is. I typically use f11 as
my upper limit on my 5D II. However to get these wide landscape shots
where everything seems to be in focus can I move to f22 and not deal with
too much diffraction.

I am going to do some testing, but I always like hearing other experiences.

thanks in advance

Your DOF is at infinity at anything 4 feet away at f/5.6. The difference between f/11 and f/22 shouldn't bring anything in the distance into "more focus"

Based on hyperfocal distances, yes - but that doesnt account for larger print sizes, closer viewing distances or more scrutiny in personal taste for what is considered acceptably in focus. Also, many (most?) times your foreground is closer than 4 feet away.

I go to f/11-f/16 on a regular basis - images sharpen up really well at these apertures. I've gone to f/22 on occasion and its much more useable than one would expect based on all the diffraction talk on this site, but you can see the effects of it with that small of an aperture.

Agreed. I'm just talking about getting the shot. at f/22, you will have diffraction with any lens, and for me and my shots, f/11 and Sunny 16 (which many of my shots are shot in with the Zeiss) > f/22

Haven't shot much at f/22..but f/16 isn't bad on the 5D II. I'm usually between f/8 and f/11 for landscape.

I pushed the Zeiss 21 at f16. Not a big deal imo. :)
