For the L glass addicted/dreamers there is a marketplace ad on FM that has superb photos of the aforementioned jewelry.

Its rare to see such nice photos of a beautiful Canon L rarity and here's your chance to look, and to drool.

Dang, that is some expensive glass!

Why is a lens like this so much money? How does a 1.4 go for $300 and a 1.0 go for $3000?!

Is it hard to make such a piece of glass?

Okay - forget the money for a moment, doesn't this re-arrange the L's in Dante's L Trinity?

And hav'nt the presentation photos been done par excellence?

But when she says no...

I noticed he had a UV filter on it! But let's not go there!

It looks remarkably 'current' and not the fifteen years it has been made. Quality never goes out of fashion.

I don't know why he bothered to show f1.8 ;) Probably as good as the nifty there.

Did you send an e-mail or a PM? He said that he didn't get the PM, but you should send an e-mail. Maybe he's off to work, though I suspect that he could almost retire on this lens sale. :)

This lens is a rarity, that's for certain. I like the way it actually has a long, useable manual focus scale with well-spaced DOF marks.

Only god knows where the focus plane is on that sample image.
However, the colors/shading/contrast are all superb......so not only that the lens is the ultimate low light tool, it could also be an unparalleled device for rendering graphically the visible world around us.

Trinity, triplets or whatever ? This lens kicks their little constricted arses all the way to Saturn.....

Be that as it may, I'll probably try to cope with the "I can not have that lens" depression by ordering its stunted "little" brother : the 85 1.2.

Get his reply, but no chance to reduce the price:cry:

I am looking for this for a long time. But the price is just too high for a 15 yrs old lens, the plastic may aged...

Especially if the annual "50/1.2L" rumors finally come true.

Actually, that lens looks mint and is probably more valuable as a collector's item than as a lens.
