How hard is it to get the hang of video on the 5D2? Any good online tutorials?

Hi guys...so I bought a 5D2, but for financial reasons (I'm in Korea, where they charge sky-high import duties) I had it sent to my place back in Canada and having a friend bring it to me when we go to Europe in a few weeks. I have a 5Dc and had a 1D3 for about a year and a half, so most of the interface/menus will be pretty straight forward, but this will be my first time doing video with a DSLR, which is a big reason for getting this camera.

As you can imagine, I'll have to hit the ground running, pretty much doing video with the camera the first day I have it in my hands...I'd like to know as much about the controls/options/etc as possible...do you guys know any good resources (video walkthroughs, etc) that may help me figure it out without having the camera in my hands?

Thanks,
Tamas

All I have to say is practice manual focus or have a follow focus rack on it. One of the biggest problems when I first started was pulling focus by using the AF features on the lenses. Now I do complete manual focus.

A lot of good info here: http://www.cinema5d.com/index.php (external link)

Also, if I were you, I'd be planning on using the Magic Lantern firmware hack to make things like manual focusing a LOT easier! http://magiclantern.wikia.com/wiki/Unified/UserGuide (external link)

Good luck!

Yogi

Thank you!!!

I'm a little worried about using ML on a brand new camera that I've never used before...(and I've never used ML before either), I think for now I'll just stick to the factory firmware, I'm not planning on doing anything spectacular with video anyways).
