It really was a historic event....and I'm glad I got the chance to see all 20 units together....but as far as a photo event, it was an epic failure. No published schedule, no individual displays....and no up close and personal photo ops. Very poorly organized and thought out. Everyone was expecting the units to be brought out on the turntable one by one so they could be showcased. It never happened.

Dan, that's too bad, I was looking forward to some great shots of the classic paint schemes.

Yeah, I wondered about that when I saw your pictures. Sorry it turned out so poorly. Maybe a strongly worded letter to NS might be in order...

Nope. They had an 11k btu portable at the Home Depot today, but I've read they aren't very good and you pay more for them.

Nice as it's currently 88f in my living room. We have 3 fans running and the 5k btu ac running none stop. Now the 2 rooms the ac services combined is 20' x 11'. Our upstairs has 3 fans and a 15k btu window unit, it's just as hot up stairs, our house just doesn't breathe so well.

That would be lovely. I guess I could move to San Diego and we could be like neighbors and stuff.

Just checked the weather report from the airport. 24C or 75F, 98% humidity, dew point at 23.8C

It's 74F in the house and much, much cooler than outside! The geothermal heat pump A/C system works amazingly well. Helps that we have an abundance of mature trees that shade the house for most of the day.

Oh, wait! Our temperature just spiked to 145 degrees and it's expected to remain that way for the next 20 years...

South African double-amputee Oscar Pistorius has been selected to run in 400m and 4x400m relay at Olympics. He becomes the first amputee track athlete in the history of the Olympics. Never give up!

I have been following his story for years now and am glad he his finally getting the chance. He has gone through a lot not just physically but in having to prove the feet he stands on don't give him an advantage. Watching this guy fall at full speed while running shows you how much drive he has.

Hey Chet, we're not as anti-social as the San Diego folks. There is a great place next door for rent. It has A/C, a pool, and a greenhouse all wired with grow lamps and a state of the art drip watering system. I understand the previous tenant has rent free supervised government housing for the next 6 years.;)
