I'm not that big of a Sonic burger fan. They are way better than the big three but I prefer 5-guys or In and Out to Sonic. It's the shredded lettuce thing. Shred lettuce and put it on a warm burger and you get wilted limp lettuce, not that crispy crunchy bite. THey do have killer rings though.

Jeez do i wish NYC had an In and Out!!!

I have been eating a lot of salads so with a SOnic across the street from my hovel, I like to pick up a large popcorn chicken and toss it in the salad. It's really good.

There was no corrosion at all on the terminals, they were perfectly clean. The battery actually had a little electrolyte gauge on it and that said it was bad and so did the test they ran. It was just time. The heat here is brutal on batteries.

High heat is not going to be anywhere near as bad as cold weather is. A battery is designed to withstand the underhood temperatures, which is much higher than any environmental temps Arizona can throw at it.

Take that battery and chill it down to -30 and then ask it to crank over an engine that has oil as thick as tar. Run the engine until the underhood temp gets up to a couple of hundred degrees, then shut it off and let it freeze again.

Yeah I know cold is bad on batteries too, but from what I've read the high head causes a lot of the acid to evaporate so the fluid levels in the battery drop too low and cause issues, though I guess that can be remedied by monitoring the fluid levels and topping them off with distilled water when needed.

Aug 22, 2012 22:49 as a reply to  @ Harm's post |  #3074

We drove to Scottsdale and back today, and we only had two memorable events. First, we hit some horrendous thunderstorms on our way home near Quartzite, AZ. I tried a little 80mph hydroplaning, and found that a bit more exciting than I would have liked. THEN, when we got back into town, we stopped for supper at a restaurant, then drove home. When we got to the house, the car wouldn't shut off. It has one of the keyless entry/ignition systems, and it just would not shut off. I finally pulled the fuse for the ignition system and that did the trick, but we have a new situation to bring to the attention of our local friendly Lexus mechanic in the morning. Weird.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!
