Hey Chet, we're not as anti-social as the San Diego folks. There is a great place next door for rent. It has A/C, a pool, and a greenhouse all wired with grow lamps and a state of the art drip watering system. I understand the previous tenant has rent free supervised government housing for the next 6 years.;)

Sounds like a great place! Fresh veggies all year round!! :D

Somehow, I don't think veggies were growing in that greenhouse...

Hope everyone had a great 4th...

We took in a ballgame tonight Vs the Padres (lost) with a very nice fireworks show after the game (win!)

I went to fountain hills with my parents, aunt, uncle, cousins and a few others to watch fireworks... there were none.

Last time I follow that crew around blindly.

Did they cancel FH due to fire danger?

Nope, they just didn't have anything scheduled.

I guess most years you can Fort McDowell's fireworks, but they had their show on the 3rd.

The weird part was they had a festival thing in FH, and at 8:45 or so they had paratroopers coming down with sparklers and such, but that was it... it was weird. I got some shots of the fountain though.

We've been through FH exactly twice and both times, despite being able to see the fountain from a couple miles away, it's been off by the time we got to the lake... :(

We're watching FH as a possible relo at some point in the next six months.

Tonight was great... I had my camera up on my tripod (as I was expecting fireworks... :rolleyes) and the fountain starting going off and the spray came right at us... so my camera got a bit wet, oh well the 7D can take it. :p There are one or two cool shots I'll upload later when I get a chance.

Oh really? You mean you don't want to live in the middle of nowhere anymore? :p

We're considering a couple different parts of town that are a bit farther north but if we were to do FH, we'd be in far east nowhere...

I guess John's neck of the woods had an interesting 4th...

Seems San Diego's biggest fireworks show lasted all of about 15 seconds due to a malfunction that launched the entire display in one salvo!:lol:

I can sympathize. Must have been impressive. Hope someone got video.

Man...that's out in the middle of nowhere.

It would cut Kristy's commute from 35-45 minutes down to about 10-15 minutes though. I might discover a new interest in landscape shooting too.

Still only about twenty minutes to Falcon Field and another fifteen or so to Willie.
