Amazes me how they maintain flight-worthiness despite being shot full of holes...

True....proof you can still fly with your tail blown off. This one had been having some air to air combat with a hummingbird moth moments before.

I posted this on FB:

It is certainly a disappointing outcome on the whole Lance Armstrong thing. **sigh** Isn't it fascinating to see how it is almost obligatory to tear down our heroes these days? I am so tired of the cynicism that exists in the world today. Anyway, I'm up early.....can't sleep. Hopefully this will equate to a good long ride this morning. And there will be no blood doping involved, although aspirin will definitely be a factor. I woke up at 2:30 with a bear of a headache (no offense intended, Jim. It's just a figure of speech.) I have another 45 minutes before I roll out of here, and I'm still waiting for the pills to work their magic on my current malady.

Back to Lance for a minute.......

I suspect it's probably true that he's guilty of what they say; I never really doubted it. Sadly, he's a product of a generation of riders where that sort of cheating was the norm, and if the truth of the matter was ever totally aired, we would learn that probably EVERY world-class rider of the era was doing the same thing. I also suspect they still are, but are only getting better at hiding it. Lance got caught and will lose everything except the admiration of people who understand what he really accomplished. The bulk of his career took place after an illness that should have killed him, and almost certainly would have killed any lesser man. He has dedicated himself to noble causes in the ensuing years, and opted not to be just another vacuous celebrity.

He did this in one of the most competitive endeavors in the world today, and in the process, no doubt stepped on a many toes. I suspect there is significant revenge component driving the campaign that brought him down, and I can only hope that over the filter of time, he will still be acknowledged as one of the most gifted athletes that ever lived. Certainly he at least deserves consideration as the greatest cyclists in the history of the sport.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

And then she actually used her HP experience as part of her credentials when she ran for US Senate...

Why shouldn't she? It was her HP "earnings" that she used to bankroll that run. And we all know that $$$=universal competence.

Well the Snap-On man got me again. But it's all good... Been on the fence about buying an air ratchet for a long time now. He just came back from their trade show in Vegas where they debuted a new air ratchet and it's a pretty little device. Full retail price will be $479.95 but he got some cheap at the show so I got mine for $319.95. Good enough discount for me.
