Thanks. You'd be surprised how many regular editing skills are applicable.

Generally it goes something like this.
  • Dust & Scratches Filter
  • Hue & Saturation to remove colour cast.
  • Curves (increase contrast)
  • Curves or Levels with layer masks (stain removal)
  • Cloning, Spot removal
  • Noise reduction. (helps with spots and paper textures)
  • Skin smoothing action with layer masks (mould & spots & paper textures) - not always used.
  • Sharpening.

I need to get better with using layers. I get the layer mask part all right, but all the different types/blends/flavours of layers is beyond my comprehension.

I don't use them much for this, blending modes that is.

Congrats. That lens is a damn gem and worth every penny over the MKI

It had better be. I'm sure it will be an improvement over the magic drainpipe.....just wish it weren't so.....idk...white.

And my mouse is dying, makes editing stuff a pain. The one thing I forgot to do today....

Screw the mouse. Buy a wacom.

Really?? I can't stand anything but. Day job irritates me having to use a real mouse just to click on stuff.

I think I never really gave it a good chance, perhaps some day.

Wacom FTW!

I often forget to put it down and end up over here or on FB while still using it! :D

I really miss my Wacom. I picked up a Inuos 4 medium and had to pack it away to move to the hovel. I want it back.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

I always use my Wacom....or touch pad but mostly wacom. I've had issues almost writing on it with the wrong pen or trying to use it as a touch pad though.

GAH! I've come close to doing that as well...

Figured if nothing else, I could sell mine as an "Autographed Model"

I have definitely looked at getting one. Major problem is that I don't have a permanent home for my laptop. While watching TV it's usually in my lap or on a TV tray table. I move about a fair bit. Don't have enough room here for anything more than a mouse. I would probably be a lot better/faster at editing if I had one. Might be a good candidate for the Christmas wish list.

I set my laptop on my lap and then put the wacom on a pillow off to the side.

I do that with my mouse. Put the mouse pad on a hard cover book or something, or sometimes just on the pillow.

I just have soooo many different things begging for my money.

Same here. I eventually just unplugged it and stowed it away in a closet where it will never see the light of day again.
