Ok....time for explanation.....what I meant was that there were too many full red "pops" for me in the "vintage" pic and it appeared more of a selective color thing because of that.
I think you were slightly tipsy and your eyes were playing tricks.

Original, unused parts, engines and whole airframes would go for ridiculously premium prices. The scary thing is, there are people out there who, I'm sure, are already warming up their checkbooks. Dear Universe: Lottery Win Please!? You have to wonder what kind of condition they are in. Still a very cool thing and we can only hope the search is successful. People that know me call me Dan

The word is that they were built, disassembled, crated up with all the requisite preservatives, shipped to the pacific and before they could be put back together, the front lines moved so far, so fast that they simply couldn't take the time to re-assemble them and so they were buried as they arrived. Sort of the south pacific version of finding a cave or underground hangar full of German aircraft that some claim are out there in the Alps. Having seen military surplus stuff from WWII, there is no question that had the planes been in a controlled environment, they would be in absolutely pristine condition. Being buried in a rain forest is a bit beyond controlled. I think everyone is anxious to see exactly what remains. People that know me call me Dan

There are very few decent artifacts in the museums....but out in the desert, an amazing number of tanks, half-tracks and other large tools of war are home to the indigenous population. It was definitely a bizarre experience to approach a tank in the middle of nowhere....only to have an entire Bedouin family pop out to see what you were up to. People that know me call me Dan

Heather and I are thinking of starting a swimming program. She's been researching classes at the various military bases around town and it appears as though the YMCA is the best deal available. John

She's been researching classes at the various military bases around town and it appears as though the YMCA is the best deal available. Because the pools on the bases are also used for training, and therapy in the case of the Naval hospital, times and classes are limited and don't mesh with Heather's schedule. Funny you should mention this. I'm getting back in the pool this weekend. Local public 25m pool. Opens 5:30am on weekdays but 8am on Sunday. Silly. I'm motivated enough yet to swim before work, but it's in the plans. Greg

I wish I had access to these miracle cures and enhancers.....I'm struggling to get back to where I was in August before the whole pneumonia/respiratory infection/pulled tendon mess began. I can relate. In early feb this year, my appendix ruptured. I was certain I had food poisoning, and the pain was merely an ab cramp from dehydration, so I waited. After nearly 2 days of not improving at all, I went to the Dr. and they freaked out. Major abdominal infection. Scans showed a bunch of abscesses from the infections, inter-bowel adhesions, pelvic adhesions. My surgeon said it looked like a war zone in there. 1D MkIV | 1D MkIII | 550D w/grip & ML| EF 70-200mm f2.8L| EF 24-105mm f4L IS | Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS | Samyang 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC | 430EXii | EF 50mm f1.8
