Oct 18, 2012 06:25 | #6903 I never wanted to drop the coin on Oakleys, but a I won a nice set in a race, and wear them most of the time on the bike now. They really do have nice lenses. I received a pair of Nike Livestrong shades as part of a full Nike kit for coaching for Livestrong Challenge, and they were nearly as expensive, but no better than the $50 budget models I'd been wearing previously (though they looked better). 1D MkIV | 1D MkIII | 550D w/grip & ML| EF 70-200mm f2.8L| EF 24-105mm f4L IS | Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS | Samyang 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC | 430EXii | EF 50mm f1.8

Jill-of-all-Trades far from having everything figured out! More info | Oct 18, 2012 07:27 | #6904 If I'm going to spend that much on sunglasses they are going to be prescription. The most I've spent on non-prescription was $70 for a polarized pair. Which got lost at baseball a couple of years ago. My Rayban's, at full price, would have been over $600 Melody

And I love my Oakley's, but I don't wear them everyday, just when I'm doing something active, golfing, cycling, running etc. I just love how they cling to your head so you don't have anything resting on your ears.

I have transition lenses that darken automatically when I go outside. Works well for me. The only issue I have is that the anti-UV glass in vehicles prevents them from darkening properly so I use clip-ons when I'm driving. John
