They really are. And I love my Oakley's, but I don't wear them everyday, just when I'm doing something active, golfing, cycling, running etc. I just love how they cling to your head so you don't have anything resting on your ears.

I cant put a price on safety. Going 35 MPH+ on every single ride i do you can never be too careful. I had ryder's before and they allowed air to hit my eyes. The Radar's solved that issue. They just fit the shape of my face much better.

Yeah, I rode a lot of years w/out glasses because of the heat, but a few years back, I changed that to wearing most of the time now. Thinking about my frequent 50+mph descents, it really is crazy that I never had any trouble, but those are back roads, without cars kicking anything up (35mph speed limit, so they don't pass me on the way down anyway).

Interesting timing that about the time I won Oakleys by winning a big crit was about the time I started wearing sunglasses daily... ;) I had a couple teammates ask if they could have the Oakleys instead of their share of the cash winnings... but no.

Forgive me for this one, but am I the only person that feels like a certain member here might have some Blue Blockers lying around?

(and interestingly, I picked up my first non-cheap pair of sunglasses a year ago - a nice pair of Oakleys - at of all places, a Sunglass Hut in Orlando on the way back from a short vacation) - and they are my day to day glasses.

I had a pair of Oakleys out of H.S. I paid $300 for. Must say they were the worst pair of sunglasses ever. Optically they were great, but the coating on the things scratched and looked crappy within 3 months of ownership. Some chick I went on one date with took them to guarantee a 2nd date, so I just let them go.

Yeah, mine pretty much live on my helmet, which hangs on my bars. Once I'm riding, I'll pull them out of the vents and wear them. Rarely to the lenses come in contact with anything other than air, sweat, and soapy water.

I've had enough close calls with bugs that I make sure to wear glasses.

Plenty of bounced off my cheak while riding. I don't have very good luck with bugs and riding... well bees... On one ride the guy I was riding with swallowed a bee and was stung in the back of the throat, he was mildy allergic. It was interesting trying to lead him back to his car after he took some benadryl.

Then a few months later I was up back in one of the preserves around here riding, and I wasn't going all that fast as I was climbing but a bee managed to land on my lip and sting me, I nearly veered into a gate (it was right by a ranger station as they close off that road from time to time). So yeah... I do whatever I can to prevent bugs from killing me on rides.

I have no pictures of me on a bike, thus I have no pictures of me with my Oakley's.

I found a picture with said glasses circa 1990 in Washington DC. It was horrible humid that day as well. But let me tell you the story on the bottle. We were driving on the PA turnpike en route to DC and I rolled down the window of my Monte Carlo to spit some stale gum out, I never saw where it went at the time. Whilst walking the mall My arm caught the gum, so my sister thought it appropriate to hang something from the souvenir. We also paid $4 for a map that wound up being on a free display like a block later.
