Randolph Engineering for me - RayBan temples are just too flimsy. I accidentally stomped on a pair of the REs and just bent them back into shape with no problems. I suspect I might have one. When I lost my glasses this summer and replaced them I chose not to get the transitions. gjl711 wrote in post #15139269 Really? They don't change in the car? I had always though it's a pain to switch them and was looking to switch to the transitions, but the car is where I need them most. Harm wrote in post #15139284 maybe the windscreen has some kind of UV filter in it or something to stop the glasses transition? It can't be simply "light" activated, otherwise your glasses would transition under a lightbulb at night... gjl711 wrote in post #15139353 A quick look at Wiki seems to indicate that it is indeed UV that triggers the transformation. So with the new autoglass being heavily UV resistant, it makes sense that the glasses would not trigger. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photochromic_lens Not sure it's just a UV screening effect . . . there's also that usually your lenses aren't in direct sunlight when you're driving, and that makes it hard for them to react. I had a glass and it reminded me of turpentine. THe GL21 was not a whole lot better. I never had the 25 so maybe that is better but I doubt it. Not sure why, but call me JJ.
