Y'know at $429 I think I'd be just as happy with the Nexus, especially once they release a 32 gb model.

He will enjoy it. I put it through its paces. Ran videos, web browsing, games, and reading applications on it. Everything was smooth. My only minor complaint had nothing to do with the OS but rather the physical placement of the control keys on the side of the kindle. They are tough to locate.
