Dare you to post the comment "is that a brush between your legs or are you just happy to see me?"

I am definitely a road tripper. Southern Kentucky is the furthest I have been without family, but with family we've been to Vancouver Island where my Grandparents used to live. I really don't enjoy flying that much, I feel awful at altitude. I probably would do alright with a short trip, but 10 hour flights are never fun at all.

I've had a few long flights and your right, they are no fun. Chicago to Tokyo is 15 hours I think and if it wasn't for work paying for business class, I would have died. I'm tall with long legs and barely fit into the seats without my knees pressing on the seat in front of me. But it looks like I have another long flight coming up. Got to head to Oulu Finland in Jan/Feb. :(:( At least I should get to see the northern lights though. It's just 100 miles south of the arctic circle.

Oooo.... I'd go on that trip! Just drug me for the flight.

I fit alright into the seats, don't have much sideways wiggle room though. Other than flying to BC when I was 6 years old, all my flights have been Toronto to Moscow or Kiev. 10 hour flights, and when I had to fly through Moscow I had a layover and then another 1 1/2 hour flight to Kiev. The constant noise of the airplane makes me homicidal, not to mention the fact that you're packed in like sardines and there just isn't enough oxygen to go around. Normally I would just dose up on gravol and sleep through everything, but the last time I travelled I was alone, so I had to ensure that I was lucid enough to get myself through the airports.

Have done NYC <> Cairo, Egypt...

Going over was a 777 that was only about 1/3 full but coming back was some ginormous Airbus where only the middle seat was empty. Slept great going over with an entire row to lay in. Coming back was problematic.

Oddest thing: Being given two bottles of wine when boarding an Egypt Air flight headed to the home country.

First trip over was Toronto to Kiev direct. I pretty much cried like a baby the whole way, massive headache and every muscle screaming at me. Flight was full. Coming back I was so drugged on gravol that I kept falling asleep while eating.

Second trip over was by way of Moscow. Flight was not full, I had a window seat with no one beside me, just enough room to curl up and sleep. But that's the flight where I discovered my allergy to ginger. Had bought the 'all natural' version of gravol, which is basically concentrated ginger. I puked a lot. Coming back I was alright and just slept a lot.

Third trip over was by way of Moscow again. Didn't leave Toronto till after midnight so I zonked out pretty quick. I was in the middle section, which was 3 seats wide. Empty seat next to me, and then a young girl on the far side. Had enough room to sleep decently. Coming back I had a window seat with a small lady next to me. Flights were alright, but that was the trip where I was delayed in Russia for 24 hours.

The last time I flew on a commercial airline I went from Kennewick, Washington to LAX on Alaska Airlines. The first leg of the trip took me from Kennewick to Seattle in a plane that had about a half dozen seats (including the pilot's and copilot's). I've been in small private planes that were more comfortable and roomy!

But, that flight was slow and when I got to Seattle my connecting flight had already left. So, Alaska Airlines put me on the next plane they had headed to LAX. Only "problem" was, there was just one seat free. It was in first class. I didn't complain.

I'd love to get that first class seat. Because my flight was so late leaving Toronto we were late getting to Moscow. We circled the airport for 45 minutes while our connecting flight took off. Unfortunately, the airline decided that we could just hang out till the next day.

Longest commercial flight I've done was from Philadelphia to Cairo.....with a refueling stop in the Azores. Flight was packed and even sitting in first class was a bit cramped.
