I will clean the lens contacts again
After next week Ill send it off for cleaning ect
I hope to keep it as a 2nd body

as much as I have cussed my 40D
she has been a faithful workhorse
95K actualizations with no cleaning or anything

actually its not her fault
its always been mine

she is a fine lady
her owner is the one who sucks
but he is getting better

now if she could just hold on for 8 more games

best price I have new from a reputable dealer is 1050 on a 7D

I used a friends 7D for the 2nd half on Sat
and I ran into the same trouble I had with m y 40D

User error

controls and menu were different

but man it was a machine gun compaired to my 40d

I see a lot of crimping in my future if / when I get one

another workhorse the 70-200 2.8 lens
not much you cant shoot with it as far as I can tell

The fundamental controls on the 7D should take about 10 minutes to master. It isn't a complex camera. The controls aren't all that different from the 40D. Yes....you do have a new menu button and multi-controller, but if anything, they actually simplify the use of the camera.

after 3 years I kinda had my 40d set up pretty well
now all erased

couldnt get the 7d to give me the red center point dot
I depend on that a lot

and I dont think I had the BBF on either

I depend on those 2 things a lot
