Running out of space? John, you're just going to have to get a tower. Then you can stack 70cm, 2M, 6M and 10-40 meter HF beams.

I just fired up my HF radio and there's no RF output. I think Bella got into the wiring behind the desk. Unfortunately, the desk is such a mess, that I need to clean it up first before I can get behind it to check the wiring.

Right... I'm sure "She who must be obeyed" would draw the line at a tower and so would the property owner.

Not only did I get the radio (Alinco 6 meter FM transceiver) but he also gave me an Arrow 6 meter ground plane antenna, a pole to mount it on and an Ameritron automatic antenna switch. (RCS-12) All I need now is a length of coax...

So I finally got out shooting again today as the family went up to Sedona for the day and went hiking. I had all of my gear packed up in my backpack so I was lugging it around all day looking forward to some good landscape photo opportunities, particularly some long exposure stuff with the stream on the hike, so we get to the first spot I see a chance and I get everything unpacked only to find out that the LCD on my remote decided to stop working... I'm not sure if it's the battery or the remote itself (it still triggered the shutter, I just couldn't see what settings it was on), so I need to do some tinkering with it now... So that sort of ruined my plans for the day... I still managed to get some decent shots, though I'm a little disappointed with what I went home with.

One of the longer exposure shots I ended up with... I was a bit rushed, but it gave me a chance to experiment some and well it was a learning experience.

It's 0 C (32F) here. Partly cloudy and 74% humidity. Weather guessers are saying snow, but I won't believe that till I see it!

Today is going to be a bit cooler for us, only 88F with only 61% humidity so it won't be as steamy. Christmas day is predicted to be 91F, so a bit warmer.

Chet, that's (the little girl looking up at your breakwind logo) just plain wrong. :-)

Two batches of rum balls are chilling in the fridge.

Working on wrapping presents, fortunately I have a lot less presents to wrap this year. We did a name draw this year so I only have to buy presents for my Aunt. And I got some for my niece and nephew. I love getting stuff for the kids. My nephew Austin is 8 years old and growing up fast. The book set I was going to get him is not available for several weeks, so I went with a back-up idea. He loves wearing cologne, just like his daddy. So I bought him some 'cowboy' cologne. Elizabeth is 4 1/2 and is a princess through and through. Pink sparkly shoes and neon striped knee socks for her. Plus they each get a new pack of markers and a 500 sheet block of construction paper.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All.

We've woken to a wonderful Auusie Christmas Day, perfect blue skies and looking to be a hot one. Trip to the beach might be in order. My kids and their cousins have already done the open the present thing and we're just about to sit down to breakfast.
