You may have noticed flickr updated their map application
. I noticed they forgot to include Canada. I posted this discrepancy in the support form in the form of these two posts:
Most of my images are placed along the north shore of Lake Ontario. The map that shows up in the top right of the image page lists several US states and partially includes THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. You know what's not showing? A SINGLE THING ABOUT THE COUNTRY THE SHOT WAS TAKEN IN! (correction - 2 provinces that are hundreds ok KMs away are listed) An insulting oversight. There are places with names beyond the borders of the US. Disapointed.
I guess ON and QC are too small to get a name while West Virginia and Maine have plenty of room.

Actually it's even worse than I noted above, it would almost appear that flickr doesn't want to admit Canada exists!
Two examples:
The first is from the Flickr places blog, http://www.flickr.com …es/New+Mexico/Albuquerque
notice the banner map at the top? The one mostly cut off, for the design I'm sure, that's CANADA. feel free to name it.
The second example is much like the one I gave in the initial post about shots mapped along the north shore of Lake Ontario. Here is a picture of Moraine Lake in Banff National Park CANADA.
Can't Get more Canadian than that. What name streaks across the map? NORTH AMERICA. sure, that's true but EARTH would be as well. Comparatively here is an image taken at the Grand Tetons
, what name is bannered across the map? It's not NORTH AMERICA.

I'm sure this is ignorance and laziness rather than something deliberate, but wow, imagine a service that forgot to name the US?
