I'm going to have my wife read your comments - I can use all the help I can get.

The cat who thinks she's a princess (so that's her name) doesn't have the fist for CW so it's got to be SSB.

So correct !! I may try to get her interested in CW by having her take a few swaps at the ole Viproplex or a few thumps on the J-38.

Good guess. The Hallicrafters is a Model S-40. The rig in the lower right corner is a Kenwood TS520 which gets its fair amount of use. In the 60s while attending Roosevelt University in Chicago I worked for Newark Electronics in the ham shack with Joe W9KLQ SK. We sold and serviced Collins, Drake, Hallicrafters, Ampex and Hammarlund. The factory service department consisted of one prson - ME.
Back then my call was K9SND and now K0WAL.

Back in the 60's I used to drool over the Newark catalog. Couldn't afford much, just did a lot of drooling. BTW, my call sign is WA5SOE.

Back then the semiconductor section wasn't very large (my first catalog was 1959). There was the 1N34 and the CK722 and that was about it. :p

This is Barny (not a girls name i know). I found her in one of our barns, where upon she followed me home and hasn't left yet, that was 6mths ago. We must have been accepted by her and SHE will allow us to continue to serve her every need.
