Thank you Renata and Lisa. Yes he's a cutie, but don't let that innocent look fool you. There's plenty of devil in him. ;-)a

Hi all. I was not going to post this at first, but then I realized that if any group would understand it would be this one. We had to put our Zeke to sleep today. He had deteriorated very quickly the last few weeks, losing weight and becoming very lethargic. We took him to the vet today, and xrays showed a large tumor. My wife and I have medical backgrounds, and we did not want our poor kittie to suffer like so many people we have seen. He could hardly stand and had stopped eating, and we decided to let him go peacefully. He was a wonderful friend and companion for his 15 years, and we miss him terribly. RIP my sweet boy.

So sorry about your Zeke. It is tough losing a furry member of the family. I've had to make similar decisions in the past myself. At least he's at peace and playing over the rainbow bridge. Maybe he'll see my Murphy & Maxie.

Farewell, precious Zeke. It's like losing a family member. He had a very loving home and that is what matters, so there is joy in sadness.

Lenny likes to hang out here near meal times. His kitty clock is very accurate and can tell withing a minute or two when the auto feeder is going to go off.

It is so sad when you lose a cat. They enrich our lives for quite a long time and it is a real wrench when it is time for them to go. Zeke looks so much like my old bruiser Winston, who was with us for nearly 17 years. Although he has now been gone for over 10 years, we still remember him. Following this thread has made me think it is time to enter the service of a new feline.

So sorry about your loss. I'm sure in those 15 years with you he had a lot of joy! My condolences.
