Cubdriver Goldmember ![]() More info | May 22, 2023 23:44 | #13384 Stumbled upon a pic I took about ten years ago of a former feral that decided that life inside beat life in a barn and moved in with a friend in Maryland. This is Ivan, taken in relatively dim light. Wish I'd thought at the time to turn the ISO down as I didn't need to be shooting it at 1/1000 s and ISO 26500, though I suppose I could say that the graininess adds some artiness to it. Yeah, that's it - I meant to do that! IMAGE LINK: https://photos.smugmug.com …/IMG_6991-X2.jpg&lb=1&s=A![]() -Pat Smugmug site: http://pmanning.smugmug.com/

Cubdriver Goldmember ![]() More info | May 27, 2023 18:37 | #13388 She's a total sweetheart. Got her when she was dropped off in front of a friend's house back in 2014. She was let out of a passing car that stopped in front of the next door neighbor's house; fortunately a bunch of us happened to be standing on the front step and noticed. She had a too-tight flea collar that had rubbed the sides of her neck raw, and a huge umbilical hernia. Apparently her previous 'caretakers' didn't feel like paying for surgery, so they discarded her. (reason 23418 of why I hate people) Vet initially guessed about 8 weeks old when he saw her, then upped it to about 12 weeks once he saw her teeth. As she was obviously underfed, she would inhale her food then push my other cat aside and start chowing down on hers, too - that prompted her name. The hernia is clearly visible here. It caused her no apparent distress, and was fixed with mesh a few weeks after she joined the household when she went in to be spayed. The vet did comment that he'd never seen a hernia so big on a kitten that small. She was a wonderful girl, we could never understand how anybody could give her up. Would you like to buy a vowel?
