Had some free time the other day so I tried to get some nice photos of my 16 month old, and of course she sat stil for me!

Please let me know what I could've done better.
Thank you!

Light a bit flat. She would benefit from brighter catch lights in the eyes.
In the first photo I'm not big fan of chopped off elbow.
You have a very cute daughter.

Thanks for the feedback and complement. I'll have to do a search for "catchlight", not exactly sure what that is. :)

I don't know how to pp yet. I've started using lightroom recently and only know how to do a few basic things such as fill light, adjust exposure cropping. Would pp be done in Lightroom or Photoshop?

It depends on what your goals are. :)
LR is great for quick adjustments, as you've mentioned - exposure, cropping, some basic smoothing, sharpening, vignettes, etc. You can fix some small blemishes, enhance eyes, straighten horizons.
For anything heavier, you'd probably need PS.

If you're just starting, I would recommend looking up for some LR free presets - there are plenty online - it would give some stuff to play with.

Thanks for the info, I'll do a search for presets. I'm sure I'm only using 20% or less of what Lightroom is capable of...and yet, I would love to upgrade to LR4...which requires a new MacBook (mine is too old). :(
