Brian, something slightly new this time. Here I have set the window to be at the forelegs of the insect. The head is therefore slightly through the window (it appears to be coming out of the screen). Note nothing is touching the frame so no window violation  Balliolman

Not sure what you are asking but assuming it is how you take the shots, in my case I only have a normal DSLR and a macro lens, so I take one pic and then move the camera slightly horizontally (approx 1cm) and take another pic and hope the subject hasn't moved http://www.flickr.com/photos/lordv/
