Rather than clutter up here- just to let you know I've posted a load of "accidental" 3-D macros in my flickR account here
http://www.flickr.com/photos/lordv/ (external link)

These are shots I've found whilst looking through one of my backup archives which make pretty good stereo.
If nothing else check out the bumble bee- worked very well.

How exactly do you look at these to make them 3-D?

How cool. Took me a few times to get it and I think I've got a headache, but very cool technique. I'd never seen this before. Thanks!

Torquemada,
You stare at the pair of pics, slightly defocus your eyes and start to cross your eyes as if you are staring at something closeup until you see an image appear in the middle, then try to relax your eyes to stabilise the 3-D image. It's a bit like riding a bike- once you have succeeded it's easy after. :)

Thanks jr#8
My sympathies with the weather,
I'm just going through my shots archive from this year finding stereo pairs (mostly accidental) :)

Thanks mcs550,
Once you've got the hang of it it is less of a strain- I've been crossing my eyes all day doing these :)

Brian, something slightly new this time. Here I have set the window to be at the forelegs of the insect. The head is therefore slightly through the window (it appears to be coming out of the screen). Note nothing is touching the frame so no window violation :D

Not sure what you are asking but assuming it is how you take the shots, in my case I only have a normal DSLR and a macro lens, so I take one pic and then move the camera slightly horizontally (approx 1cm) and take another pic and hope the subject hasn't moved :)

Thanks as always Ahmad for the compliment.
Well hopefully the 3-D shots will get better - not certain though :)
