A guy on another forum kindly organised a studio meet / model shoot at his studio in Warrington - never done any studio work, or shot any models, but here's my shots from the night:

i like them...

im sure someone will be by to critique them but i really dont have any complaints other than the lack of detail in her legs in the 'white background' shots near the beginning...

Yeah, that's the leggings not reflecting any light more than anything I think; they're not clipped black in Lightroom, and I can still see details in her shoes.

Overall a solid set, and I like the two black and white conversions. Just a couple of comments: the first four outside shots have overly harsh light on her face, and your two 'up your nose' shots are less than flattering.

Thanks for the comments.

@Scribe55 - the lighting is "fine" on those shots, there's no blown highlights and it's PPd the way I wanted it. Might not be to everyone's tastes, but they are like that by design :)

I like all except the first four of the second set. I understand that was a creative decision by the OP so that's cool. Model is beautiful. Really love the last one.

They're definitely "marmite", I've had people tell me they're their favourites, and people telling me I've got the lighting all wrong :p

I might do a more "standard" PP of them for comparison.

I had to google "marmite." Doesn't look very appetizing, no wonder they chose "love it or hate it" as the slogan, LOL!

As far as the shots in question, I could tell it was intentional and not an inadvertent overexposure or blowout. A spotlight from a snoot would've been interesting.

Yeah, I was going for a dreamy/ethereal "dreamily looking into the light" kind of thing - setup and shooting of those totalled less than 5minutes (it was the end of the night) - I'm not 100% happy with them, but it's not far off what I had in my head.
