Taken on 'live' Sunday night in Glasgow Scotland. I only had my Canon 50mm 1.8 lens and my older 300d. I was further away than I would have liked and the conditions were challenging in a near dark room.
Taken on 1600 ISO

Please Please give me some feedback!!!!!!!!

Super shots regardless of conditions...as you know a touch soft from lighting I'm sure, but great composition, capture and colors!!

Nice shots. If you run them through Neat Image you will remove the grain and with a little sharpening you will definitely have a couple of keepers.

Thanks for feedback. How would you improve this photo? I was a bit disapointed at the grain particularly on the colour one

Great shots! As 26thiboy said, run it through neat image and that will take away the grain (noise).

Very nice work! Noise Ninja or Neat Image really come in handy for 1600 ISO shots.

And if the grain (actually digital noise) bothers you, try 1600 speed film! By comparison, your digital shots will look pretty good.

Where do I get these. Are they software? Never used them before

Yes, they are the two best software applications designed specifically for removing digital noise.

Noise Ninja is the one I use. You can download it from http://www.picturecode.com (external link)
You can download and try it out for free, but you need to buy a license to save or print the images. I think the basic version is around $40 and pro versions a bit higher.

The other one is available at http://www.neatimage.com (external link)

There are other (free) options. Raw Shooter Essentials has a noise reduction slider.
http://pixmantec.com (external link)

Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro also have functions that will reduce noise.

These are great shots and I for one, love the grain. Grain introduces an earthy, edgy quality to photographs that can not be achieved otherwise. Grain is often added to a photograph to get that effect. They are great. Leave them alone.

To leave it or take the grain away. That is the question?

Thanks for all the comment on this one. I emailed them to EMI, Corrinnes Record Label. Hopefully they are going to use some of them in promotional work/

Look out for this girl. She is being tipped in the UK record press as the 'break through' artist for 2006. According to her website she plans to play in NYC and LA in March. A truely wonderful voice and talent.

Keep your eyes open for her in 06

I like the first one the best and I wouldn't like it as much with out the noise.
