Eastern Lubber Grasshopper

Was visiting extended family today, brought along my new 28mm 1.8 for family shots, maybe a few shots of the garden/flowers. While out strolling I found this guy/gal:

Shot taken pretty close to MFD, using on-board flash.

I was advised to kill him so he wouldn't eat the plants, but I transferred him out of the yard and onto the road instead, hoping he would feast on the much larger (and therefore able to withstand it better) street trees.
