here are a few shots of a peregrine falcon and one of a great horned owl. sadly i haven't seen either of these in the wild but i guess the library is better then to not have seen them at all :) any feed back or thoughts welcomed.

hope i didn't post to many and again any critique or comments welcomed!

do any of you guys have any recommendation for a flash extender? I'm looking at picking one up and would like some real world reviews of ones that you have used or are currently using and enjoy, also possibly some of the ones you didn't like and why!

thanks for looking!

Of them all, much prefer the last one as, with the others, I am left with the feeling that the bird is reluctantly performing or, perhaps, that it looks uncomfortable in some way (mmm, no, that's not it, but it's something along those lines...).

Words fail me today.

EDIT: looked over them again, and, yes, the chap looks uncomfortable, maybe even startled. Perhaps it was the flash?

Next time I'll try to see if I can go without the flash or bounce to try a more natural feel fir the birds. This was my first go indoor with anything living and it was surely a learning experience.

Thanks for the input Andrew

#2 is my favorite. With birds and animals, anything inside or not in the wild poses a great challenge due to the fact they dont look as natural. Without having leaves, branches, grass etc around them, its hard to get a great image.

i agree J.little it is hard to get natural when you are surrounded with all unnatural stuff. i hoping to be able to take a trip to their facility later in the year to catch these birds in a more natural surrounding (the birds have huge cages with lots of as natural stuff as possible in them.)

thanks again for looking you guys!

Cool shots! Looking at the first I did a double take for a moment wondering if it was alive.

i can see that hairy. it does sorta look stuffed lol, but i assure it was alive :) whats really cool about the peregrine falcon is that she was used an official mascot of the US Air Force Academy sports and was retired a few years back to this place https://www.facebook.com/natureandraptorcenter (external link)
