Took the opportunity of having some good weather and a lusciously deep blue sky, after a while of overcast skies and rain, to head to the Swan River again. Waited and waited for a Pelican to land any place within reach and things were looking bad after a few hours...then one obliged, right in front of me.
I was actually about to leave and give up, but decided to wait on the basis that whenever I pack up my kit something usually happens (so I always act like I'm about to go, then stay a while longer as if to play with circumstance). Oddly, this often gets me the "catch of the day" so I now always run through this routine now.
