So I've recently decided to shoot weddings. Got my first gig recently. Was on the beach. Was a gorgeous day. The pay was good. I was happy. :)

Anyway, here are some of the shots. Thanks for looking!

The most important part is the couple loved what they got. Now I'm just working to learn from the mistakes I made and work to improve for my next wedding.

Very nice. What did you use to light the group?

Good set, like 2,3&4 best. No shoes, like that too

First one looks like a snap shot, however I think it's a good shot to document the scene.

Not all that crazy about the processing on the second one. There's some haloing around the subjects. Is there a color version of this? I think that might look better.

I like the lighting on the last 2 group shots. They are nicely done.

Difficult to say with a 4 photo set, but again, the group shots are pretty solid.

Thanks.

Actually...and don't laugh...just a 580 EXII on camera. I was debating on how I was going to handle lighting but I figured, keep it simple until I'm more comfortable shooting things like this.

There were times, however, I wished I'd brought my ABs. Next time...

Yeah, I actually have a shot of the bride's and groom's feet while they were taking their vows. She was wearing shoes and he wasn't. Very neat contrast.

Thanks for the c&c. :)

I know the processing is an individual taste thing and, sometimes I don't like this kind of processing and others I do.

There is a color version of that one (I also provided it to the couple).

The funny thing is, I've always struggled with group shots and have worked very hard to try and improve them. I felt like I got some nice group shots at this one. I still am not comfortable with them but I feel like I can get respectable shots of groups after all of the practice I've done. I really want to get better at them though.

Yeah, can you post up the color one, if you don't mind that is? I think it would interesting to see the difference. I mean, it looks like you had some nice blue skies, so I think it might look good in color as well.

So on-camera 580EXII eh? Nice! :) The group shots look really good IMO. I would be completely happy with them. The one thing I noticed just now is that the color balance is different between the 2 group shots. I think they both look good, but I would match them up better. But really, well done!

A wedding shot at the beach midday sounds like a photographer's nightmare to me. Congrats on pulling off these shots. I'm not crazy about them but then again I doubt I could've done better under the circumstances :p

group shots look great!!! I know you couldn't help it since it's at a beach, but I really wish they weren't squinting.

Tell me about it. That was one of the first things I thought of--and mentioned--when they told me what time it was going to be. Oh well, nothing I could do about that.

Here's the color version:

In looking at it, I can see what happened. When I bumped up the saturation on the sky I got a little sloppy. Have to go back and fix that.

Very nice wedding pictures, I like the 4th and 2nd color version better. Did you do any photo editing? if so, what did you do? thanks. :)

I do all of my own editing. I use LR3 and PS CS6.

Thanks!

Definitely prefer the color version of #2! Great shots! midday beach shooting can be hell, even just for family fun days! Kudos to you for creating such great shots!
