Vegas Race Track Advice

Hi guys,
My friend is going to be driving a car on the test track out there as part of a bucket list birthday present from his wife. I don't know the name of the track, however, till I get there...

Anybody familiar with the arrangements there? Will they let me into the pit to shoot him?

I plan on using my 1D MIII and 100-400mm using AI servo at f8 or f11, at a slow aperture 1/60th?? I also plan on using center point focus.

Any other suggestions/tips? It's been a while since I've done this. Thanks, guys for your help!

I think settings wise you should be good, depending on how fast they are driving possibly drop your shutter even more. I would really try to find out the track name so you can look at pictures of the setup to see where you would like to/ allowed to shoot from

Use the 70-200 and 50 instead. Wide brim hat. Be mindful of the sun hitting the camera and lens. Vegas heat this time of year is enough to affect the AF.
