I'm looking for an insert for my existing bag, with the intention of carrying my 7D with the 40mm pancake and *maybe* a speedlite/second lens - not much more. I'd like it to be padded, and have some kind of lid / top to it. This will live in a backpack, and I want to be able to load gear on top.
Catch is - the backpack has a width of 10.5", and most of the inserts I'm finding are 11" or 12" wide, which would likely fit, but get a little squashed.
Length can be anything under 6.5", height doesn't really matter.
Has anyone got any suggestions or experience with something similar?
