I've created a new Lightroom catalog to get my stuff a little more organized, reduce some clutter, and streamline my backup procedures. Is there any way to copy/move the Publish services from one of my old catalogs into my new catalog?

It seems that all the plugins are there (including the JF Facebook plugin and the LR.Blog plugins which I installed) but I have to set them up from scratch again. So all the collections inside those publish services are lost. (ouch)

I've already gone through this once, trying to migrate the collections from my default Facebook publishing plugin into the JF Facebook plugin, and don't relish the thought of manually creating a buch of plugins - AGAIN - to match my Flickr sets and Facebook albums.

Thanks.

Hmm, I don't know about the plug-ins -- if you are just starting a new catalog, the plug-ins should be available.

What won't show up, though, are the actual collections and other metadata if you just import the images. What you can do, though, is to go to the old catalog and Export to a Catalog, and then Import into the new catalog, or in the new catalog Import from a Catalog and point to the old catalog.

Which approach you takes is up to your personal preference and how you want to handle the various options. When I did a major overhaul going from LR1 to LR3, I exported "chunks" from my LR1 catalog and then imported into LR3. I did it a chunk at a time, because I figured it would be easier to handle!

Doing that will export Collections, Keywords, Editing metadata, all that stuff, so that your Publish collections should show up. Give it a try!
