I just received my 60D a couple of hours ago. Charged the battery and put my Sigma 17-70 lens on and fired off a couple of pictures. Thought I would go to EOSCount and get a shutter count to see how many it came with. Plugged the USB cable into the computer and into the camera and then turned the camera on -- Got an error 80!! Had to take battery out and put back in to get rid of the error. Also tried to download the few images I took via USB cable but get same error. (I will use card reader normally). Am I going to have to send this thing back?? Very frustrating to say the least.

Just got off the phone with Canon support and then sales. The tech guy was completely stumped with the problem. Said it could be a bad usb connector on the camera. Connected me to sales and they are issuing a return label and going to send me a another refurbished one.

You mention the lens as Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 OS DC Macro. The DC version of that lens has been around since about 2006. How old is yours?

I see you also have a EF-S 55-250 IS. How does the camera behave with that lens mounted?

John,
I got my Sigma last December mew from B&H and used it with my 40D until it died two weeks ago. Just got the 60D today and did not get a chance to really try it. The 55-250 worked well with my XSi and then my 40D. Now waiting again for another 60D..........
