Hello everyone,

I've been busy the last while putting some time in to the design of my website, Hot Ramp Photography. It is devoted to military aviation and to share with the general public the important role that air power, whether it be Air Force, Navy, or National Guard play in our day to day lives.

There are two more sections that I will be adding in the coming days, including one on my published works and another containing my blog posts which will be continuing in the near future.

Any feedback would be most appreciated, and I thank you all in taking the time to hop over and have a look.

Hi Attila,

Did you hand code the whole site in HTML? must have been alot of work.
Any reason why you decided to do this over using something like wordpress?

The site looks really simple and may need a designers touch to it to shine it up. The whole black background and "Hot Ramp photography" really isnt working for me.
The home page looks like you tried to center the content. But using tables in the way you did, isnt the best way. It might look right on your machine but people with bigger monitors it kinda looks like its just floating towards the left.

You have alot of good images but I think the site needs abit of work to really make your images pop abit more.

Hello Renlok,

No, didn't hand code it - the program that I'm using (NetObjects Fusion) has that option but I am no programmer. I used the simple version of creating the text boxes and everything else. I chose to do this rather than Wordpress just to learn a lot more about creative design, and this is my first attempt at a basic site. I'm hoping to progress the design over the coming days/weeks to a more advanced look.

As noted above, this is just a simple trial version of the site and I'm hoping to build it more over time. I appreciate your feedback, and do agree with you that the black background and text just doesn't work as much as something bigger and better, which I'll be attempting during the next redesign in a couple of weeks or so.

I hear you on the centered issue, especially with bigger monitors. I haven't figured out how to expand it all to fit on the larger sized monitors, and once I do rest assured I will make the adjustments accordingly.

I don't like having to click "Enter" just to see your website. I would ditch the splash page and just use your"About" page as your home page. The image on your splash page isn't centered. Is it supposed to be? Also, I'm using a 1024 x 768 monitor and I have to scroll to the right to view your site/pictures. It's a bit annoying.

The black background is fine, but the red and especially the blue text is hard to read. The whole site seems very dated. I would like to see some type of visual feedback when I hover your links. Maybe a different color?

Are you trying to sell your photos or is the website for info only?
