You have to realize that the smaller the "thing" you're trying to frame, the longer the lens has to be. These suckers were BIG so I wasn't THAT far away, but even on a 1.6x crop camera don't expect 200mm reach all that far.

I was probably like 20-30 feet from them I'd say. I think that shot might have not been at full 200mm though. Just go to a camera store and try it. :)
