It iso probably not a recall because no one is in danger of bodily harm from it... hence necessitating a "recall". But they acknowledge there is a design defect, and they will fix it. Call it what you like. If it has stripes, it is probably.....

If it were truly a "recall", you could send your currently working camera in to Canon and they would fix the "potential problem" before it occurred and ruined your vacation (i.e. the 5D "mirror fix").

Jul 05, 2012 21:00 | #10 He's right, it isn't a recall as mentioned above. Harley Davidson had a problem with their Twin Cam touring engines in 1999 without going into detail, etc. They acknowledged the problem, BUT, would only fix it, IF, it broke.. Many owners wanted the fix for preventive measures, but HD wouldn't allow it, etc. Nikon D4, Sony RX10, Sony RX100.

I have an Ultra Glide Classic... and there is always something that just isn't right with it. But that is what makes riding an HD an adventure.

However, I am now reluctant to rely on it alone for a trip or other photo need ... I have to carry a backup camera too. My S100 serial number is within the numbers listed.
