It might be me but it does not say no camera. It said no camera recording . it did not specify anything about still photos.

Yes, it wasn't exactly clear to me either. But to my eyes, camera recording sounds more like iPhone than what was in my bag!

I have nothing to add except say "hi" as I'm just next door to you in Copley.

Hi. Let me know if you know any cool places to shoot anything around here. I'm running out of ideas in Wads, Medina, etc.

thanks!

dave

The only reason I took my gear is because my wife's workmate was in the opening act and thought he might enjoy a few pics of his band playing in front of a couple thousand people. Plus, it's a really nice venue with lots to capture.

dave

You would have been better speaking to the management of the event and asking prior to the event.

Definitely a good chance of being allowed to take them if you have permission of one of the acts.

Hmmm. I have a totally different view of this. I see photos as a net benefit to the band in the form of promotion. If they have a no photo policy, I'll not only gladly leave my gear behind, I won't even do them the favor of posting cell phone pic to facebook or even a status update to promote them. Their loss, not mine.
On the other hand, if they have an open photo policy I'll gladly pack a bunch of gear and shoot lots of fun pics and share them with lots of people so they can see how much fun I had and they too may want to go.

I am serious....and don't call me Shirley.

Black camera, black lens--not too long--and no problem 99 percent of the time. Canon 1D and white lens another story at some venues. Minor league baseball-- I can walk in with a white super tele and no credentials and get waved right past the ticket booth.

Same kind of BS applies at sporting events. I love Wrigley field because they let me take in 60D and 100-400L, with only a warning not to deter anyone else's enjoyment of the game. Last week I took my SX260 instead. On 7/19 I am going to try leaving the camera(s) at home and actually watching the game. Can't wait to SEE a baseball game for a change.

My Sx260 has 35mm equivalent of 500mm. How would they know?
