Wow, so beautiful with the fog... How lucky you were to get to see one! We regularly drive through one of the areas in Sweden with the most bears, but I have never seen any.

Thanks for all the kind comments.

I probably ought to state that the shot was taken from a hide at night. The bears are normally extremely wary of humans so the chances of just happening on one are remote. Even in a hide, you still need a lot of patience to see one!

Nothing 'added' per se. I use Aperture for all my post work so the changes are limited to levels, contrast, etc. From memory, I think all I did was increase the contrast a bit (the original was quite flat due to the amount of mist between me and the bear) and maybe a very slight decrease in vibrance. I usually add a slight vignette to all my shots as well.
