I'm pretty upset about it. It still takes pictures fine but zooming in and out is very stiff and takes quite a bit of muscle to turn as it appears stuck... Is there anything I can do about this? How much will it cost to repair? Thanks guys..

I'd give Sigma a call to find out...

In the UK, they have repair price bands based on the type of lens you're sending in, but a separate hourly rate for shock impact repairs; these are ~£100 and £53ph respectively.

Sounds like it has either jumped some threads or they are damaged, I would stop forcing it as all you'll probably do is damage the zoom mechanism more. Time to send it to Sigma for a repair estimate..

Note also though that Sigma UK make a charge (I think it's £15) if you have it assessed but don't have the work done... plus the £10 postage or so and you've already spent £25 to be back at square 1

I did the same thing (Canon 18-55 kit lens). I could force it, but it got worse as time went by. I was probably damaging it further, as one poster suggested. I found out it would cost roughly 50% of the price of a new lens, plus postage, to have it repaired. I bought a new (better) lens. Major bummer...good luck.

I dropped mine over a year ago and still fine. But sounds like yours was a nastier fall. I'd call sigma.
