I guess the tilt is intentional, but I think it looks strange and would look better level. And the pose of the kid seems to be a standing pose - again strange - where are her legs? Better if she were reclined I think.

Hey, if that's what the client ordered and it made them happy, it's a success. But if you post it in a photographer's forum... well, you know. The tilted ocean kills the shot, in my opinion. It's too discordant from one's perceptions. Better to put a drop shadow on the shell instead of the vignette-like thing that you have. It looks like the shell was pasted in. The non-linear blur effect on the sand caught my eye too -- and not in a good way. It makes it look like a Lens Baby shot. They generally make my skin crawl. As for the pose, don't you have any shots where she's not sucking on her dress and there's some eye contact with the camera? Lastly, as a baby picture, she doesn't take up a lot of real estate.

The background (everything except the baby) is form a cd that I got free when I bought digital backgrounds. I had them on my computer whilst talking to a client and they saw it and said I want that, i cringed and said sure I can do that. It doesn't look to bad printed in 5x7 and if it pays a bill then who am I to argue,

The baby was sitting down on a beanbag for this shot, and the mother wouldn't stop calling her so getting a shot where she's looking at the camera was near impossible ,

Thanks for the comments, I did post this with the intention of it getting rippedmtompices because TBH it is as ugly as hell itself,

Looks a bit better than a velvet Elvis wallhanging, I think...I certainly agree, though. Give them what they want and collect the money!
