I took these 3 pictures of the moon tonight..After loading them onto my computer they seem to look pretty plain, so I did a little photo editing to add some more effects to them..
Please - Post comments, suggestions, etc..Thank you..
In my opinion, your moon shots look plain because the moon is overexposed.
The reason is that the moon is very small in the LCD or viewfinder of the camera and the normal exposure meter measures mainly the dark sky.
I have a Pro1
On Feb 23 I got the moon in clear sky at 19:10 and shot 7 images in manual mode at ISO 50 f8.0 and Shutter speeds of 1/4, 1/8, 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125 and 1/250 sec.
Below is an animation of the seven pictures actually shot in RAW, cropped and converted to .gif
I achieved the best image at 1/60 sec.
If your camera do not has manual mode I am not of much help, let us know your camera model and somebody will come with settings for a better shot.
