So I have this Epson R3000 printer (having only problems with it) connected to my Macbook Pro (2011) (10.7.4) and the latest Epson drivers.

And Im trying to print out a picture but the colors are always off!
What am I doing wrong here?

See attached images.

My Epson did this once but that green was purple due to not disabling the printers color management.

On my R2880, its done in the printer driver, just one of the options listed under "Custom" while making the basic setting changes, along with paper size etc. The R2880 is well known to be a very good monochrome printer, with some you need to switch ink sets.

Have you tried telling the printer to use only greyscale inks?

Should be done automatically in OSX when you select "let PS manage colors". So the menu option should be grayed out.

Did you do a nozzle check?

Won't affect the print one bit.

Try letting the printer manage colors and see what happens.

If that works then you know its a color management issue but also one thing to consider in the future. I always print a 4x6 test ALWAYS because paper and wasted ink if something goes south on a large print can be costly.

Grimnar,

I love your image.

Thank you very much, this is the daughter of a friend of mine who helped me with some stuff. So I plan to give it to as a thank you.

Anyways, I did a full maintenance on the printer and now everything seems to be working again. But I still find all the different menus (LR4) for printing a pain in the a$$.

What type of maintenance did you do? I'm having the exact same problem. I thought it might be a driver issue.

Nozzle cleaning? I was told by some Epson rep to do this about 8 times
Then wait 6 hours and then do it a few times again. I only did it like 2-3 times and its working now :D
