Hello All,

My wife likes the look of most of these pictures on this website. I think they look a tab bit over exposed. Im sure it is probably some action in photoshop as they all have the same look.

Here is the website.

Does anyone know how to achieve this look?

Thanks

You mean the "let's desaturate everything and shoot into the sun for flare for no good reason" look?

You desaturate and shoot into the sun for no good reason.

Some parts of those images look "normal", so she probably used masks to only affect a part of the image. It's really simpler than it looks: Three pages on Layer Masks (external link)

Thanks to all for the helpful information. I couldn't really pin the "Look" but i guess now that it has been said some of them do look desaturated.

Thanks

she has "behind the lenes"? I find that odd.

de-sating to that degree with those actions looks interesting for sure.

is there an image you're trying to copy?

No my wife just likes the looks of the pictures. Mainly the ones (now that someone mentioned it) that appear to be desaturated and (in my opinion) boarder line over exposed.

Looking at the Florabella site it looks like the Milk and Honey II action.

I have actions from there, never did end up trying them. I tend to just process by hand, although it takes longer

I don't think they are desaturated but more over exposed. A lot of those images are over exposed TOO much to the point where a lot of definition is lost. Some images are just eyes and mouths the rest of the image is barely visible.

Even though this may be the "look of the month" I would explain to your wife that in 5 years when that look has run it's course and is no longer popular, you will regret having pictures done in that style. Of course if you are saving all RAW files, this will not matter.
