4th of July, Rock Hall, MD Fireworks

So as this was my first time shooting fireworks with my Canon t2i gripped. I'd like some CC on how I could improve these or any comments/suggestions is welcomed!
I was using my tripod (of course) and my canon t2i gripped with the kit lens (18-55mm).

- We had a great spot so I set everything I need to set up, got a couple drinks and started shootin! Most of these were 5-10 second exposures depending on how often they launch them and timing of shutter release, aperture of F9-F18. ISO was around 800-3200. Focal length was 15-50mm depending on how far away or close I wanted to get the explosion.

Of course its all about luck and timing when it comes to shots like these but for a first time shooting them and playing around with shutter speed and apertures, I think they came out great!

wow!! myself i think you should be shot! Getting such great shots for a first time its just not fair.
Well done those colors are brilliant.

Exposure is fine.... but like I have said in other post... where were these? Some context would add drama and interest to these.

Just my opinion.

I like these but I wish they were all in frame and not cut off at the ends. Adding some landscape along with the fireworks would make them more interesting.

Good focus and exposure; but they're really framed way too tightly. Need some more room, so as not to cut off the bursts so drastically.

Why not shoot f/4 or so and drop your ISO to 100? Adding ISO will just increase your noise level and at the distance the fireworks are, you don't need f/16 or even f/9.

Beautiful color though, but I agree cropped a bit tight.

The above comment about f/4 is true. I had to check it because it was not intuitive to me.

Assuming you were...say 3,000' from the fireworks...I got a depth of focus in excess of 2,800' for the entire range of your 18-55 at f/4. In other words, everything 200' in front of you to infinity will be within acceptable limits of sharpness.

- As far as lower ISO and smaller(wider) aperture that really didnt work for me for some reason...

I guess I could say I was about a thousand maybe two thousand or so feet away.. (honestly not sure.)
