Those are some great shots Didier..
The light in the Leopard series is seriously beautiful..
You did well with the 100-400.. You showed off what it can do if done right!

So seems we have good early interest here. Potentially one group full, subject to final decisions, and possibilities for second group. I will also be sending a PM to all those who've expressed interest via that route since I last ran a trip in 2011, just to make them aware of this new thread. Hopefully by end of this month we can start looking more seriously at accommodation options and then start booking in September.

Thanks! I actually used the 70-200 a lot during that trip. The 100-400 was mostly used at 400 as I would use the other lens for shorter range. But it is indeed a very god and versatile lens.

The leopard was shot when the sun was setting down. We then had to hurry to get back to camp before they closed the gate ;)

BTW, I have done all the detailed planning and bookings for this trip and can offer you a wealth of info should you ever decide to go into this part of the world at some stage.

Bill

Bill, still remember your friendliness! I truly hope I can use your experience one day.

Dave. Put me down as strongly interested. I've always wanted to do one of these trips, but never had the money to fund it.

Some of my favorite lurking happens in these threads! I can't imagine what it would be like... Alaska was wonderful and I didn't even get a bear excursion in but Africa, the true gem for wildlife variety... Someday...
It is awesome to see the results of real world strangers coming together through these expeditions. The results and experiences look like they are far better than one could achieve by just booking the average brokered safari!

Pete, I would so love you you to come along. Really enjoyed our 'hawk' trip and I think you'd just love it on safari! only problem for you ... you're restricted to 30 mph on main park roads!!

Rane, sums it up perfectly and exactly why I run these trips!

The only time I have ever seen Cheetah wild was in Kgalagadi National Park. Olli spotted them peeping over a dune. Three of them came quite close to us and it was a great sighting very early in the morning, about 6.15am. They blend amazingly well, as do many, many animals, and you really do need to be awake and tuned in to spot them. But that's part of the fun and the challenge!
