Best Buy dropped my camera

So, what would you rather have, instead of Best Buy? Once they are gone prices will just go up everywhere else. While I have had my issues with them from time to time, they generally treat me well and I have never had an issue with an exchange or anything. I don't rely on their repair services.

Agree with you... once Circuit City left, BB prices were no longer kept in check, and I like competition. I also like to go in and browse, try out cameras and laptops, check out TVs, etc. I understand also about not using their repair operations, I would rather send it somewhere else.

Sometimes it is good to really think about the long-term consequences of such desires that an entire B&M chain go under... It has a very large ripple effect, and many times right to your own employer.

Just say you are not comfortable with the camera being dropped and ask for a another one.

Have used both. Both are good, I like newegg more. I only use Best Buy for emergency PC parts. I hate shopping at Fry's, they treat their customers like criminals, although the selection is huge. I also buy video games, and I bought my 60D, one of the 430 EX IIs, and the 55-250 from Best Buy, reward zone premier silver has a 45 day (soon to be 60) return policy on everything, they constantly have good financing, and I use the RZ MasterCard for our groceries and dining, so I always have $ off certs to use on the stuff I buy, often making it cheaper than online with instant results and easy returns.

I just wonder what Amazon, etc will do if their showroom (Best Buy) goes under.

Although I do buy from Newegg - sometimes - I think that their return policies suck. As far as I can tell, there is no way to return an item for a refund - only an exchange is permitted. I could be wrong, but that is what I've seen on everything that I've bought there.

I've only had one issue with them, I got a 4 pack of cooler master case fans from them for cheap.... but I cancelled them to get some aerocool shark fans instead..... needless to say they still sent them. I got online with them and asked them what gives and they sent me a gift card for the total of the fans and said to keep them. Worked out well as I used the money for my monitor.

Yes, everyone can have an accident, a bad day, etc.. that's only human. The issue with places like this.. vs. a true camera shop, is the 16 year old girl handing you your $1000 camera, doesn't know a thing about cameras, and thinks that iPhone(or any phone) cameras are the cat's a$$. Therefore, they are less likely to be careful.

I believe you misunderstand, substitute "package" for "box", they would have just swapped out one camera package for a new one from the back.

But since it was gonna bug you forever, you should have just asked for another (that had probably already been dropped at some point along the way, just not in front of you) before you left. But they should take any exchange within 30 days, right? So just take it back...

Really, this guy shells out what may be alot of money to him and youre bustin his ##### because he may be concerned about damages. Since when is it too much to expect something to be in perfect shape when you pay for it. Give me a break...

Yeah, I just got my 70-300L from them, and while there were those new air bag things in the box, it wasn't placed well and the lens box had one corner dented in. Everything seems ok though. The outer box was totally torn up, part of the tape was almost open.
