I am always so envious of those of you that get the up close and personal shots of Puffins - but since the only place I have been that Puffins hang out is Cannon Beach Oregon this is what you get- this year I had my new 500 mm lens which enabled me to get some nice shots - the closest you can get to these is low tide on the beach and shooting straight up 235' +
Hope you enjoy they are such cute and comical birds -

It is so hard to land with an audience

I am a happy bird

Great puffin in-flight shots. I find them difficult to track for some reason.

Darn, I was there this past weekend. Do you know where they go when they're not there?

Thanks all - since we travel all summer in the RV we get to see a lot of the country - have not gotten to Maine yet
The Puffins leave in August when the young have fledged and then go to sea -where they spend the winter and they loose the color and become sort of mottled gray -
