Looks like I'm set up to go to the Smoky on Oct 20. I will want to be seeing lots of things and taking lots of pictures. For the people that have been, do you have any recommendations for things I need to see and places to go. Is 7 days in the park enough time to see everything?
Thanks Dale

Not sure where your entry point to the park will be but you should stop at one of the welcome centers and you should find several detailed tour guide type books that give very detailed descriptions and pics of the many interesting points in the Smoky's. We typically stay in Pigeon forge and the Gatlinburg area. I would suggest you search the net for info on the Roaring Fork Motor Trail if Gatlinburg is on your list of places to visit. The ride on US441 from Gatlinburg to Cherokee offers many photo ops. I've used a book I purchased for the iPad by Jim Hargan titled "Photographing the Great Smoky Mountains" that is very helpful. Cades Cove is another great place to visit, just be sure to check their schedule for bicycle only times (usually early morning on certain days). Plan your route to optimize travel time as many site to see can be hours apart. October could be prime leaf turning time, in which case traffic will be very heavy and very slow but the display of colors, if your timing is right, will be well worth it. You'll want to stay away from main routes like US 441 and Blue Ridge Parkway on the weekends if you can during that time of the year. Have fun.

Got a camera, some cheap glass, one nice glass, a PC which doubles as my darkroom and a lot to learn - and having fun learning.
Taking a picture is like planting a memory, it grows more beautiful with time.
