Fun topic Jean-Guy and I had a good giggle over your comment on my image. Yeah...I had it in my craw to shoot this wood relief that hangs in our upstairs hallway, and rather than essentially document the scene, I tried to do artsy with it. I think I destroyed it, maybe. Oh, the variables I tried...

Seeing kb's wonderful Belair entry made me wish I had entered one of my old car shots too.

Congrats kb, terrific entry.

Thank you Jean-Guy for the kind words. A 57 Bel Air can make an artist out of anybody

Wonderful entries this week. Loved the pics from Randi and lavanut. When I saw Allen's "Vintage Mission in Sepia" I thought the race was on ... for second place. That is one spectacular image. Kevan sets a great example by trying something new and different for him. That green car is a real crowd pleaser tho :D

cheers

Paul

Definitely agree about Allen's mission image. Wonderful mood set with that sepia.

WTG Paul!

Jean-Guy, I had no control over the setting, lol.it's on a very eccentric British fellows property that he allows folks to walk through for free, it's called Walden's Way. It's a must see:lol:

you're a great friend, but if Zombies chase us, I am tripping you.

Congrats, Paul! I remember an old horn mechanism similar to that on an old '66 Pontiac my mom had when I was growing up. The cool thing on that car was you could take the keys out of the ignition when it was running. I freaked out some of my friends doing that in high school. :-)

Randi, I liked your shot too. It definitely had a vintage theme to it in several ways.

Thanks for the kind words on my entry too, Jean-Paul and Paul. They were throwing that typewriter out at work, and I snatched it so I could take photos of it. I have more experimenting to do with it before returning it to the "technology trash" area at work. :-)

I may be fascinated with volcanoes, but the name's Lisa.

Congratulations, Paul! Excellent subject this week but wish it had been a few weeks later as we always have a major car show in August with many vintage, classic and antiques. Had many shots from past years like this taken taken with an S5 IS, but none taken with an EOS.

Airfrogusmc, this is the way I would have make you the winner, but it's a matter of taste.

QUOTED IMAGE

Yes it is a matter of taste. I think Paul deserved it. I'm not a big fan of texture on photographs. If I wanted to be painter I would be. Matter of taste.

This was my 2nd choice but I love the old street cars in New Orleans and so I went that direction. I also though about using a shot of my 90 year old Mother-in-law.... ;)

Mo, I considered using a self portrait :D

A lot of the appeal that Allen's shot has for me is the creamy (lack of) texture. I wouldn't change a thing ... excepting of course that I wouldn't mind being the photographer
